This day will be remembered as a glorious day for Odisha cricket as it fetched two magnificent successes for the state. While the state senior team scripted an innings victory in their Ranji Trophy match against Maharashtra at Wayanad, the under-19 team registered identical win over Chhattisgarh in a Cooch Behar Trophy match here.
Rewards followed the achievements as Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) congratulated captains, players and support staff of both the teams. The state body also announced cash prizes for the outstanding individual and team performances.
According to OCA Hony Secretary Asirbad Behera, Biplab Samantray, Suryakanta Pradhan and Deepak Behera will be given Rs 50,000 each, while other players and support staff of the senior team will get Rs 10,000 each. Amrit Khatua and Preet Kanwar Singh Chohan will be given Rs 25,000 each for hitting a brilliant century and taking seven wickets in an innings respectively in the Cooch Behar Trophy match. Other players and support staff of the under-19 team will receive Rs 5,000 each.
